Sizing and Fitting of your Osprey Pack

Fit is the key to pack performance. Take the time to get it right. Most Osprey packs are available in multiple sizes to fit a range of torso lengths. To find your torso length, have a friend measure your back along the spine (as shown in the picture below) from the level of your iliac crest (the top of your hipbones) to your C7 (the knobby bone at the base of your neck). Use the table below to determine your pack size.

Outdoor Gear Lab Editor's Choice Award

"This is a great pack for dedicated day hikers. Avid day hikers are tackling peak lists, covering hundreds of miles a year, and own specific gear for these pursuits. This is a purpose-built day hiker's pack. The rigid suspension supports loads of all sizes and holds the pack away from your back for optimum ventilation. The set of pockets and straps is carefully designed to carry what you need for all season hiking. The result is a pack that is perfect for hiking but is a little too bulky for day-to-day or multi-sport use. We have granted two Editors Choice awards in this category, representing the two different types of users we encounter seeking a "day pack." The Osprey Stratos 34 is for the hikers. The Osprey Talon 22 has the same attention to detail and careful choice of features. But its less rigid back panel and less free-flowing ventilation system are better for those that want an all-around bag for hiking, commuting, rock climbing, cycling, and traveling."
