The Patagonia Men's Nano-Air® Hoody was made to be worn for the entirety of your aerobic, start-stop alpine missions, so you’re never slowed down by changing layers. Warm, stretchy and breathable FullRange® insulation dumps excess heat when you’re working hard and keeps you warm when you’re not. Now built with significant recycled content in the shell, liner and insulation, the Nano-Air sets another new standard for technical insulation. Fair Trade Certified™ sewn.
Approach, climb, belay, repeat until the post-climb beer—all in the Nano-Air® Hoody, a warm, stretchy, breathable layer you can put on and leave on through high-output, stop-and-go activities in cold weather. Even better, we’ve upped the recycled material content throughout the Nano-Air, from the lightweight, weather-shedding shell, to the comfortable plain-weave liner, to our warm-when-wet FullRange® insulation—all with zero sacrifice in performance. It’s a new standard for technical insulation, merging the comfort and breathability of open fleece with the protection and warmth of a puffy while using recycled inputs to the greatest possible degree. The woven textured yarn face fabric is soft and durable, and better resists pilling than the original. Full mechanical stretch creates a close, sculpted fit over baselayers and an uninhibited range of motion. The trim, stretchy hood is designed for next-to-noggin use, though it’ll still fit snugly over low-profile helmets. Two above-harness handwarmer pockets and two chest pockets all close with trim, low-bulk zippers. The center-front zipper has a zipper garage for comfort on your chin. The Variable Conditions Cuffs have sleek, stretch-knit insets that allow you to easily push up your sleeves. When the belay goes from chilly to downright cold, pull on a lightweight shell and feel the Nano-Air’s thermal properties skyrocket. Fair Trade Certified™ sewn.

Warm
The Nano-Airâ„¢ Hoody, powered by 60-g FullRangeâ„¢ insulation, offers dynamic warmth that stretches and breathes with you during any high-output, start-stop alpine mission.Â
Stretchy
The Nano-Airâ„¢ uses FullRangeâ„¢ insulation with 4-way mechanical stretch, so it requires minimal stitching for stabilization. Pair that with a stretchy liner and shell, and the Nano-Airâ„¢ delivers unrestricted movement for highly dynamic activities.Â
Breathable
The incredible breathability of our FullRangeâ„¢ insulation (40 CFM) means you can go hard all day with zero swamp factor and spend less time messing with layers.
The 100% nylon ripstop shell still protects from light precip and all but blasting winds.
Nano-Air Insulation
The ultimate insulation link-up of stretch plus breathability, Patagonia's Nano-Air collection places their 60-g FullRange Insulation between a light but durable shell and liner fabrics to create a product exclusive to Patagonia and unlike anything else out there. Offering excellent temperature regulation and unrestricted movement, it's ideal for continuous wear during highly aerobic mountain missions.
Patagonia Men's Nano-Air Hoody - Outdoor Gear Lab Top Pick Award, 2018Â
After two years on the market, the Nano-Air continues to be one of our favorite jackets for alpine climbing, cold weather running, and ski touring. No other jacket feels as soft and comfortable against our skin or offers as much stretch and mobility. We wore it around the house on chilly mornings, and even to sleep. Our Top Pick for Breathability, the Nano-Air is lighter and breathes better than its closest competitor, the Outdoor Research Uberlayer, though it's less burly and has less features. It has two super convenient chest pockets, two hand pockets, and a hood that fits well, even without a cinch cord. While most of the synthetic jackets in our review are alternatives to down jackets, the Nano-Air offers a warmer, weather resistant alternative to a fleece.
Outdoor Gear Lab, 2018Patagonia Men's Nano-Air Jacket - Winner, 2015 Outside Gear of the Year
"Patagonia tried something new and it worked: a soft outer nylon backed with 60 grams of polyester insulation to create the Nano-Air Hoody , a super-breathable puffy. Translation: you'll be toasty at the start of your ski tour but won't overheat as you work your way upslope. Waiting for your partner at the summit in dumping snow? Pull a hard shell on top to stay dry. The extremely stretchable fabric helps this technical layer fit like your favorite sweater. It's so cozy and capable that it became our go-to piece for everything from climbing to skiing to running. 13.6 oz."
